Meta Ads management — selling with Instagram and Facebook ads

We don’t run Instagram and Facebook ads with the “Boost” button — we build them for sales in Meta Ads Manager: the right objective, the right audience and results measured with the Pixel. You see which lead and sale every manat brought in.

What is Meta Ads: how do Instagram and Facebook ads work?

Meta Ads is the advertising platform of Meta, the company that owns Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp. Both Instagram and Facebook ads are managed from the same account — Meta Ads Manager. With one campaign, your ad can appear in the Instagram feed, Stories and Reels, the Facebook feed, Marketplace and Messenger.

Every campaign has an objective, and Meta groups them into six: Awareness, Traffic, Engagement (messages, video views), Leads, App promotion and Sales. The system shows the ad to people who match the chosen objective: ask for likes and it finds people who like, ask for sales and it looks for people likely to buy.

To optimise for sales, Meta needs to see what happens on your website. Meta Pixel and the Conversions API do this: they tell the ad system who visited the site, added to cart, submitted a lead or made a purchase. Without this connection, ads may look like they “work”, but you can’t tell whether they bring sales.

The “Boost” button on Instagram simply shows a post to more people. In Ads Manager we control the objective, audience, placements and measurement — and the difference is often more leads from the same budget.

Who are Instagram and Facebook ads right for?

01

Businesses with a visual product

Clothing, cosmetics, furniture, food, accessories, real estate. A product that can be shown in photos and video sells more easily on Instagram.

02

Businesses that sell through messages

If customers write to you on Direct, WhatsApp or Messenger, message-objective ads send conversations straight to your sales manager.

03

Service businesses

Clinics, courses, repairs, moving. A form inside Instagram and Facebook collects names and numbers, and the lead comes straight to you.

Who it’s not for

If people actively search for your product (emergency technician, tow truck), Google Ads may be the first step, because on Meta people aren’t searching — they’re scrolling. In these cases we run Meta together with Google.

Meta ad objectives: which do we choose?

The wrong objective is the fastest way to burn a budget — like choosing “Traffic” and expecting sales.

ObjectiveWhat it’s forWhen we choose it
AwarenessShowing the ad to as many people as possible and being rememberedA new brand, an opening, an event announcement
TrafficSending people to the website, Instagram profile or WhatsAppThe Pixel is new and there’s little sales data yet
EngagementMessages, video views, post interactionsWhen sales happen in Direct, WhatsApp or Messenger
LeadsCollecting names and numbers through a form inside Instagram and FacebookService businesses: clinics, courses, repairs, real estate
SalesPurchases or leads on the websiteThe Pixel is set up and events are measured correctly
App promotionApp installs and in-app actionsIf you have a mobile app

In Azerbaijan we most often start with the Engagement (messages) and Leads objectives, because most sales happen in conversation. If purchases happen on the website, we move to the Sales objective.

How we work

  1. 1
    Days 1–5

    Free audit

We review the account, pages, measurement and the last 90 days of ads, and send the results in writing.

  2. 2
    Week 1

    Setup and measurement

Business Manager, payment, Pixel and Conversions API are set up. No sales campaign starts before measurement is ready.

  3. 3
    Week 2

    Campaigns and first test

Audiences and campaigns are built, and several creative and copy variants are tested together.

  4. 4
    Ongoing

    Optimisation

We look at which ads and audiences bring cheap leads. We pause the weak ones and move budget to the strong ones.

What does the cost of Instagram and Facebook ads depend on?

Ad budget

Paid directly from your card to Meta. You set a daily or lifetime budget and can change or stop it at any time. If the budget is too small, the system can’t collect enough data to learn, so we calculate a realistic amount in the audit.

Service fee

This is the fee for our work and it’s separate from the ad budget. It depends on the number of campaigns, platforms and the scope of work. We send the exact amount in writing after the free audit.

What affects results the most

  • Creative: whether the image or video grabs attention in the first second
  • Choosing the right objective and audience
  • Correct Pixel and measurement setup
  • How fast you reply to messages and leads

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between Instagram ads and Facebook ads?

Both run from the same system — Meta Ads Manager. The difference is the audience: Instagram is strong for visual products and a younger audience, Facebook reaches a wider age range. We often run one campaign on both and let the system move budget to wherever results are cheaper.

Isn’t advertising with the “Boost” button enough?

Boost shows a post to more people, but its audience, objective and measurement options are limited. For sales and leads, building the campaign in Ads Manager gives more control and lets you measure the results.

How much monthly budget do Instagram ads need?

There’s no fixed number: it depends on your industry, competition and objective. If the budget is limited, we suggest focusing on one product and one audience. We calculate a realistic budget for your industry in the audit.

Can messages from ads go to WhatsApp?

Yes. In a message-objective ad, the button leads to WhatsApp, Instagram Direct or Messenger. Your WhatsApp number is linked to your Facebook page and the conversation comes straight to your phone.

Who creates the creatives?

We write the ad copy and adapt your existing photos and videos for ads. Professional photo and video shoots aren’t included and can be agreed separately if needed.

Whose name are the accounts in?

Yours. Business Manager and the ad account are opened in your name, payments go directly from your card to Meta, and we are added as managers. When we stop working together, the accounts and all the data stay with you.

What if there are no results?

The contract is monthly and you can stop at the end of any month. If the numbers don’t improve, we explain why in writing. Sometimes the problem isn’t the ads but the price, the website or slow replies to messages.
